Three candidates for two seats in Board of Education election

Three candidates will compete for two open seats in the City School District of ³Ô¹ÏÂÛ̳ Board of Education election May 20.

The terms of two current board members expire at the end of June -- President Sridar Chittur, Ph.D., and Vickie Smith. Dr. Chittur is seeking re-election to a third term; Smith is not seeking re-election.

Two additional candidates submitted the required nominating petitions in advance of the April 30 filing deadline: Edith Leet and Austin Wolfgang.

The board election will be held in conjunction with the district's annual budget vote May 20. The two candidates receiving the most votes will begin four-year terms July 1.
